What SEO really costs here

SEO pricing in Malaysia confuses people because two different products wear the same name: a one time technical foundation, and an ongoing content war. Most SMEs are sold the second while missing the first.
What agencies charge
Monthly retainers here run RM 1,500 to RM 5,000. Some are worth it. Many bill for reports about rankings that never move, because the site under them was never technically sound to begin with.
What actually moves rankings
- Technical health. Clean URLs, correct canonicals, structured data, a sitemap Google can trust. Done once, properly.
- Speed. Google measures it, buyers feel it. A slow theme with forty apps cannot be optimised into fast.
- Pages that answer real searches. One page that honestly answers "berapa harga website Malaysia" outranks fifty generic blog posts, because it matches what someone actually typed.
- Patience. Rankings compound over months. Anyone promising page one in two weeks is describing an ad, not SEO.
What you can skip
Daily blogging with no search intent behind it. Guaranteed ranking packages. Backlink blasts from directories nobody reads. If the deliverable is a PDF report rather than a change on your site, question it.
One time fix or retainer?
Start with the foundation: our search visibility work is a one time RM 990 that covers the technical layer, schema, speed pass and your first intent pages. A retainer only earns its keep after that, when you are genuinely fighting for competitive keywords month after month. Foundation first, war later, and only if the war is worth it.
